What's a wiki? A wiki is a collaboratively authored website.
That's a fancy way of saying it's a site that has been created, edited and maintained by wiki users like you. Anyone who joins the site can edit an existing page or add a new one. It's totally free! We hope that you will join our community and collaborate on the content. The idea is that is gets better with time and participation. What's the purpose of this site? What makes it unique?
This site was created to share information about wikis and how they can be used. If you're looking for a place to learn about using and creating wikis, to share your favorite wikis, or to share information about using and managing wikis, this is the site for you.


Am I welcome here?
You betcha. All wiki users are. We welcome the lurkers (or readers, as some prefer), writers, editors, moderators, administrators, creators, and even those who create and support wiki software and hosting services. If you have a question, just ask the moderators.

How can I participate?
There are lots of ways that you can contribute and help with the wiki.
