| sandbox | A page where a new wiki user can play around or experiment using wikitext or the wiki editor to create content |
| server | A computer program which manages shared access to a centralized resource or service in a network |
| version history | A record of a prior version of a page so that its content and formatting can be retrieved at a later date |
| wiki | A type of website that allows anyone visiting it to quickly and easily add, remove, or edit its content, often without the need for registration |

| wiki clone | A historical term that describes sites imitating the WikiWiki idea before wiki engines were common |
| wiki engine | A type of software that runs a collaborative wiki system |
| wiki farm | A server or collection of servers where wikis are hosted |

| wiki name | Formed by concatenating capitalized words; see also Camel case On a wiki service, it is simply the name of your website and often does not require concetanating words |
