Wikipedia Founder Breaks Up With Girlfriend Via Wikipedia
In March 2008,
TheRegister and
switched.com (posted on AOL News) reported that Wikipedia co-founder Jim Wales announced the termination of relations with his fling, former Fox News correspondent Rachel Marsden via an update on Wikipedia and then IM'd her later. His
statement has since been moved to his personal blog.
WikiLeaks in the News
In 2008,
WikiLeaks is making the news over sensitive documents leaked regarding rules of engagement in Iraq (
New York Times), an order to shutdown the site (
BBC News), free speech concerns about the site shutdown (

Georgia gubernatorial campaign manager resigns over wiki page change
In April 2006 the resignation of the campaign manager for a Georgia gubernatorial candidate after being accused of changing an opponent’s Wikipedia biography hit the blogs, including the
Politics Online blog, and the news (including
Atlanta television news coverage, CNN, and Charleston's
Post and Courier).
Content accuracy of Wikipedia vs. Britannica
There has been a running dispute about the accuracy of information in Wikipedia and Encyclopedia Britannica (as introduced in
